International Alliance for Ability in Science

The International Alliance for Ability in Science (IAFAIS) is an organization I founded to address the profound need for community, visibility, and support for students and researchers with disabilities—particularly within STEM fields. What began as a personal passion project has grown into a shared movement to build equity, inclusion, and belonging across scientific and academic spaces.

What We Do

  1. Raise funds from independent donors to provide scholarships and financial aid opportunities for disabled students and researchers.

  2. Cultivate community support for disabled people in all domains of academia and research through peer support groups.

  3. Create educational resources about disability, accommodations, different learning strategies, and how to make one's laboratory and work place more accessible.

  4. Engage the public through science communication and disability awareness educational efforts.

  5. Provide free tutoring for disabled students at all levels of education.
